Comments:NICK WARD (EX GLAMORGAN WANDERERS RFC) Gentlemen, I sadly wish to notify you of the passing of my brother Nick last Monday 6/11/06 in Melbourne following a courageous battle against leukaemia. He represented the Glamorgan County team on numerous occasions, and I believe was awarded a county cap. He was just fifty years old.

Comments:I remember Glamorgan County playing under lights at Penygraig RFC in the mid 1970's. There was always a packed house and on one occasion, when we were aboard a double decker Rhondda bus enroute to the game a policeman stepped out and stopped the traffic to allow the teams to cross the road from the clubhouse changing rooms to Graig Park, which was built in the old Naval Colliery site. The sight and sound of 30 odd players, 1/2 of them in blue, red and white hoops, crossing the road amongst all the spectators and the backdrop of the floodlights was one hell of a sight and an interesting experience that I still remember 30 years later. Also the post match "function" in the club and the preverbial stop on at Jacks bar(?) The secretary at the time was Gwynne Williams. Regards Geraint Phillips Perth, Western Australia

Comments:Hello Howard,<BR> <BR> I would be most grateful if you could convey to your Officers and Committee<BR> Members my great appreciation for your very kind invitation to the Silver<BR> Ball Presentation.<BR> <BR> The welcome extended to Andrew Chinn and me was second to none and the<BR> courtesy and care we received during the evening does Glamorgan County RFC<BR> and yourself great credit. It's the sort of function that people who attend<BR> tend to say "This is easy to put on", what they do not appreciate is the<BR> planning and the work that has taken place long before and you should<BR> derive great personal satisfaction from the success of the evening.<BR> <BR> Andrew and I enjoyed a great evening of real rugby fellowship and we are<BR> extremely grateful to you all, long may the Silver Ball flourish!<BR> <BR> Best wishes.<BR> <BR> Aurwel<BR>
